CBC wins Cyber Defense Competition

Columbia Basin College Cyber Security students won the Pacific Rim Region Cyber Defense competition’s first prize and will head to the national competition April 22-24 in San Antonio, Texas.

Student teams were challenged during the two-day competition with protecting computer networks against the same type of real-world cyber threats infiltrating retailers, corporations, social networks and financial institutions.

CBC defeated programs from 12 other colleges and universities including teams from the University of Washington, Central Washington University, Western Washington University and the University of Idaho.
