The newly appointed president of Washington State University will visit WSU Tri-Cities on April 1.

The Richland campus is the second stop for Kirk Schulz and his wife Noel as they tour all five campuses of the WSU system over a two-day period.

Schulz will make remarks and take questions from students, staff and faculty at noon in the East Building auditorium. That event is scheduled to last about an hour.

The WSU Board of Regents named Schulz, currently the president of Kansas State University, to lead the WSU system during a recent meeting at WSU Tri-Cities. He was one of three finalists, whittled down from 200 applicants.

The community service day planned for Friday has been moved to April 8.
