Pasco teen spends week working in Olympia as Senate page
Chiawana High School sophomore Hailey Adamson spent a week as a page for the state Senate. She spent the week working at the Capital in Olympia.
Adamson was one of 16 students who served as Senate pages for the fifth week of the 2016 legislative session. The 16-year-old is the daughter of Kevin and Gwen Adamson of Pasco.
The page program provides Washington students an opportunity to spend a week working in the Legislature. Students transport documents between offices, deliver messages and assist with mail. Pages also spend time in the Senate chamber, and attend page school to learn about parliamentary procedure and the legislative process.
“You definitely learn a lot, and even if you aren’t into politics you still get to meet a lot of cool people,” Hailey said.
She was sponsored by 9th Legislative District Sen. Mark Schoesler, R-Ritzville.
