Boys & Girls Clubs kick off week of national celebration
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Benton and Franklin Counties will have events all week to celebrate National Boys & Girls Club Week.
This year’s week-long celebration will highlight how the organization is working with kids to cement their future. Here’s a rundown of activities:
▪ March 8
9:30 a.m., Author Ammie Heard will read her book, Animals, a Beast and some Creatures to Seek, to preschoolers at the clubs’ main branch at 801 N. 18th Ave. in Pasco
6:30 to 8 p.m., Extended after-school hours for local teenagers at the club’s main branch. Pizza, games and prizes will be available.
▪ March 9
3 to 5 p.m., Leadership service project with club youth at Keewaydin Park in Kennewick
▪ March 10
4 to 5 p.m., dodgeball game at the Bobbie Littrell Club at 333 Court St. in Pasco. Mentors and club families are invited to attend.
▪ March 11
5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Family Board Game Night at the Music and Arts Center at 20 N. Benton St. in downtown Kennewick. Participating families are asked to donate canned food for a local food bank as the cost of admission.
