Washington Department of Early Learning seeks new council member

The Department of Early Learning is accepting applications from qualified and interested people to fill a vacant seat on the Washington Early Learning Advisory Council.

The position will represent Head Start, Early Head Start, Migrant/Seasonal Head Start or the Tribal Head Start Program.

Council members serve two-year terms, which expire on June 30 of the second year. Council members are expected to attend and be prepared to actively participate in council meetings, which take place about six times per year, and to participate in subcommittees or work groups.

The council includes parents, child care providers, health/safety experts and legislators, as well as representatives of tribal nations, independent schools, the K-12 and higher education systems, and other individuals invested in improving Washington’s early learning system.

Application deadline is Feb. 15. To learn more or to submit an application and resume, go to http://del.wa.gov/partnerships/elac/.
