Volunteers sought for Pasco reading program
Volunteers are needed for a program that pairs community members with elementary school students in Pasco for weekly 30-minute reading sessions.
Project Literacy is run by Regional Service Corps, part of the AmeriCorps group of service programs. Volunteers will be trained to work with students and are asked to commit at least 30 minutes a week reading to children for the duration of the school year.
Bilingual tutors who know Russian or Spanish are particularly needed. Volunteers do not have to live in Pasco.
To apply, call 509-547-6607 or email pl@rsca.us.
