Information event for Tri-Tech set for Jan. 28

Tri-Tech Skills Center will have a career and education fair Jan. 28 for students interested in the alternative high school program and looking at their options after graduation.

Tri-Tech focuses on career and technical education and is open to students in multiple districts in the Mid-Columbia. Programs range from culinary skills and construction trades to firefighting and child care.

The program’s High School & Beyond Night runs from 5 to 7 p.m. It will include tours of the program’s facility at the corner of Metaline Avenue and Kellogg Street in Kennewick. There will also be representatives from various regional universities and colleges, technical schools, apprentice training programs and the military and local employers.

The event is open and free to the public. Students who will be in the eighth-grade to high school seniors next school year are encouraged to attend.
