Pasco schools to hold career fair for student teachers

The Pasco School District will is joining its fellow Tri-City districts in making a hiring pitch for new teachers.

The district will have a career fair for current student teachers from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 12 at Chiawana High School, 8125 W. Argent Road. The fair is designed for those completing their student teaching this fall, with the idea they can fill teaching vacancies for full- and part-time positions after the new year.

Candidates will meet with school principals to go over qualifications and anyone attending should bring a resume and a completed application for a certificated position in the district. Cover letters should include information about a candidate’s completion of their student teaching assignment.

Pasco’s career fair follows Kennewick School District’s on Nov. 9. The Richland School District was looking to hire for as many as 20 positions last month. The Richland and Kennewick career fairs were focused on teaching positions for the 2016-17 school year.
