Fundraiser for Pasco family in fatal crash

The parent-teacher organization of Virgie Robinson Elementary School in Pasco will have a fundraiser Nov. 18 for a family whose kindergarten son was killed and sixth-grade daughter was hurt in a car crash.

The family was driving east on Highway 26 near Interstate 90 in Grant County when the driver made a U-turn and was hit by a semi-truck and trailer. William Cruz, 6, was killed and his sister, Reyna, 13, seriously injured.

The fundraiser will feature a taco feed, music and a silent auction. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under and can be purchased with check or cash at the school or by calling 509-543-6086.

Contributions also can be made to an account in the family’s name at Monad Credit Union in Pasco.
