Graduation dates approved for Pasco high schools
The Pasco School District’s three high schools and Delta High School will hold graduations on June 10 and 11, a week after most Mid-Columbia high schools will hold their commencement ceremonies.
The Pasco School Board approved the dates for the ceremonies as part of its consent agenda during Tuesday’s regular board meeting.
The district had to rearrange the school year calendar after a teacher strike delayed the start of school by nine days. That will mean a shorter winter break, fewer teacher in-service days where students stay home as well as a last day of school pushed to June 17, about a week later than usual.
New Horizons High School will hold its ceremony first on Friday, June 10. Pasco and Chiawana high schools will follow on Saturday, June 11 as will Delta High, the science- and technology-centric program jointly operated by Pasco along with the Kennewick and Richland school districts.
