Washington Superintendent Randy Dorn to attend Delta High dedication
State Superintendent Randy Dorn will be the keynote speaker at the Oct. 8 dedication of the new building for Delta High School, the science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, high school operated by the Kennewick, Pasco and Richland school districts.
The new school, located near the intersection of Broadmoor Boulevard and Sandifur Parkway in west Pasco, opened to students Sept. 15. Money for its construction was largely provided by Dorn’s office and the Legislature.
Delta has about 400 students chosen by lottery from all three districts. The school was previously housed in buildings in central Richland leased from Columbia Basin College.
The dedication will be at 6:30 p.m. and will be preceded by tours of the new school conducted by students from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. All aspects of the event are free and open to the public.
