WSU Tri-Cities given mentoring award

An international women’s mentoring group awarded Washington State University Tri-Cities its Higher Education Award during a recent awards gala in Washington, D.C.

It’s the first time Million Women Mentors has given the award, a release said. The university currently has 30 students paired with professionals at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, Energy Northwest, CH2M Hill and others through the organization.

“Our students witness the types of opportunities and paths they should take to be successful in their own lives,” WSU Tri-Cities Chancellor H. Keith Moo-Young said in a speech at the gala. “Our goal is to one day have every female student on campus participate in this amazing program.”

WSU Tri-Cities’ mentoring program also includes peer mentoring and the Executives-in-Residence program which brings leaders from various industries to the Richland campus.
