Parents sought for Pasco curriculum committees

The Pasco School District has put out a call for six community members to sit on curriculum adoption committees for language arts and math.

The committees will meet in the late afternoon on Wednesdays in October for two to three hours, as well as several Saturdays in November and December, a release said. Other meeting times will be determined by the committees.

Parents on the committees will view the materials and assist in recommending core curriculum.

The contract between the district and the Pasco Association of Educators, recently approved by the Pasco School Board, requires recommendations for language arts and math curricula be sent to the board in the spring.

Those interested in serving on the committees must be parents of children attending Pasco school. To apply call 509-546-2659 or download and complete an interest form available here. Deadline to apply is Oct. 12.
