The Pasco School Board is expected to approve the district’s contract with its teachers during a special board meeting Sept. 29.
Approval of the two-year deal with the Pasco Association of Educators is the lone item on the agenda, except for a closed-door session. Public notice for the 5:30 p.m. meeting was released late Monday afternoon. Union and district officials were not immediately available for comment.
The school board held off last week during a regular meeting on approving the deal with teachers after the union raised questions about language used in a draft drawn up by the district.
Teachers voted to accept the proposed contract on Sept. 14, ending a strike that delayed the start of the school year by nine days.

District administrators said the disagreements were a matter of both sides just needing to agree on specific wording and not a sign of ongoing issues with the contract. Union officials have said there were discrepancies in the document but that they expected the issues could be resolved quickly.
The board meets at the district’s administrative offices at 1215 W. Lewis St.
