This Tri-Cities high school just won $5,000 for its stadium. Find out how

River View High School in Finley is one of 50 high schools across the country to receive $5,000 from T-Mobile.

Athletic Director Ryan Helms said the grant specifies the award is earmarked for stadiums and will be used for improvements to the visitor side stands.

Last month, the telecommunications company announced a $2 million grand prize football field technology makeover program called T-Mobile Friday Night 5G Lights.

The program gives small town high schools from across the country a chance to win a $2 million grand prize, according to a T-Mobile news release.

In addition, 16 finalists will each receive $25,000 and 300 schools will get $5,000 during the nationwide competition’s entry period to support high school football programs.

River View High School is one of 250 schools so far to be awarded $5,000 and is still in the running to win the big money.
