Nearly 8,000 computers to be handed out to Kennewick students

Thousands of parents and students waited in line outside the administration building on West Fourth Avenue on Tuesday morning to pick up Chromebook computers from the Kennewick School District for online remote learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

It was the first of three days.

School officials plan to hand out 7,000 to 8,000 computers for students in grades 3 through 12.

The sessions start at 9 a.m and lasts until 7 p.m. each day.
