Pasco elementary school closed for cleaning after employee contracts COVID-19

Virgie Robinson Elementary in Pasco was shut down Friday to be cleaned after a staff member tested positive for COVID-19.

The district is taking three days to clean the building.

Students picking up lunches were diverted on Friday to Marie Curie STEM elementary school. They will be able to pick up their meals at Robinson starting on Monday.

While the school has been closed to the public since March, staff has been in and out of the buildings.

The ill employee was last at the school on Friday, May 22, but didn’t have any contact with students or families and didn’t handle school food.

Benton Franklin Health District employees are tracing any contacts the person may have made while sick with the new coronavirus.
