Flying steel for new Kennewick High School

A crane lifts steel beams into place for the new Kennewick High School building.

The work is part of the $87.4 million project to replace the former school first opened in 1951. The new building includes a science wing, dining commons and courtyard.

It will connect to the existing Lions Den gym and a remodeled auditorium.

It will hold 2,000 students when it opens in August 2021.
