Kennewick’s Amon Creek Elementary opens

Fifth-grader Aiden Prost helps custodian Matt Lesperance with the inaugural flag raising ceremony during Friday’s ribbon-cutting event for the new Amon Creek Elementary School.

The 76,000-square-foot building with 38 classrooms is in Richland at 18 Center Parkway but is a Kennewick School District school.

It’s the final project of a $89.5 million bond approved by Kennewick voters in 2015. The school cost $23.2 million to build.
