Distraught parent triggers lockdown at Kennewick elementary school
A distraught parent triggered a 35-minute lockdown at a Kennewick elementary school Tuesday.
The parent, upset because he learned about a no-contact order against him, was locked out of Lincoln Elementary at 9:20 a.m., police Sgt. Randy Maynard said.
Kennewick police were called, and the man was gone before officers arrived, Maynard said.
The doors were unlocked at 9:55 a.m., and no students or staff members were threatened, Kennewick officials said.
