Students place second at STEM competition

A Tri-City team of third- through fifth-graders recently placed second in the National Grand STEM challenge. The team included students Sam Deist, Angus Deist and Elliot Nunez.

The competition was for U.S. and Canadian students. The local competition was at the Sylvan Learning Center in Kennewick, owned by Randy Way. Four teams competed and the winning team was entered in the North American competition.
