Sunnyside student wins Year of the Apple art contest

2016 Sunnyside High School graduate Esteban Garibay was the grand prize winner in the 21st annual Year of the Apple art contest.

Garibay received a check for $1,000 for his efforts and will see his artwork published on the 2017 Dow AgroSciences calendar poster.

Second-place winner Cyrille Villas from Richland High School won $500.

The art contest is open to all students in grades 9-12 in Adams, Chelan, Douglas, Okanogan, Grant, Benton, Franklin, Kittitas, Yakima and Walla Walla counties.
