3 Pasco men injured in van rollover on I-82

Three Pasco men were injured Monday afternoon when their van rolled south of Kennewick after a tire blew out.

The driver, Rolando Ahilon Cruz, was cited for not having a valid driver’s license in the 2:50 p.m. crash.

According to the Washington State Patrol, Ahilon Cruz was eastbound on Interstate 82 when the left rear tire blew on the 1999 Chevrolet Astro van.

Ahilon Cruz, 25, then overcorrected, which caused the van to leave the highway to the right, hit a guardrail and roll, the state patrol said.

The crash happened six miles south of Kennewick between Coffin and Locust Grove roads.

The driver and his passengers, Calin F. Cardona, 28, and Celestino G. Cardona, 21, were taken to Trios Southridge Hospital in Kennewick for treatment.

They all were wearing seat belts in the crash, troopers said.
