90-year-old Othello man killed in 2-car wreck near Moses Lake

An elderly Othello man was killed after a two-car wreck near Moses Lake Thursday afternoon.

The wreck occurred about 3 p.m. when Warren L. Hansen, 90, tried to turn left from Baseline Road on to Highway 17, Washington State Patrol officers said. He failed to complete the turn and an oncoming Jeep Wrangler struck his 1987 Chevrolet Nova.

Hansen was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses lake where he was pronounced dead.

The Jeep driver, Codee H. Cornell, 21, of Wenatchee, was not injured. Both drivers had seat belts.

No citations were issued.
