Trash fires spark up in Pasco
Pasco police continue to search for suspects in a wave of large trash bin fires.
The last fire took place behind Mexico Lindo on Court Street and 18th Avenue Sunday night.
Police responded to similar fires in summer 2015 that led them to arrest Abel Y. Contreras, 44, on suspicion of arson and reckless burning. He was later charged with second-degree arson for a grocery store fire.
More arson cases occurred in September 2014 when a 20-year-old man was accused of starting three trash container fires in an 11-hour period.
Bystanders should call 911 even if a fire appears to be small, police said.
Anyone with information on the recent fires is asked to call Pasco police at 509-545-3510.
