Kennewick motorcycle cop retires after 28 years
More than 50 people showed up Monday to honor Officer Mike Bowe on his retirement from the Kennewick Police Department.
He was with the agency for 28 years and primarily served as a motorcycle officer, in addition to being a firearms instructor and radar officer.
“We’re losing a huge wealth of experience with Mike’s retirement,” said Police Chief Ken Hohenberg.
Bowe served on the proactive crime team early in his career. He trained as a motorcycle officer in 1995 and continued to ride for 21 years.
“Inherently it’s probably the most dangerous job at the police department,” Hohenberg said.
