Grandview driver has medical episode, dies after crashing car
A 46-year-old Grandview man is believed to have suffered a medical episode before crashing his car into several fence posts.
Troy A. Harris died at the scene, despite efforts by first responders to revive him with CPR and first aid.
Authorities were called to Forsell Road in Grandview at 12:47 p.m. Saturday for a one-vehicle crash.
Witnesses told Grandview police and Yakima County sheriff’s deputies that the 2002 Chrysler Concorde had been eastbound on Forsell when it crossed the center line, drifted back into its lane and left the roadway, where it entered a soft, dirt bank.
Harris was in and out of consciousness when law enforcement and medical personnel arrived, the sheriff’s office said.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician via telephone.
The sheriff’s office said damage to the Chrysler did not indicate Harris was traveling at a high speed. He had no signs of trauma, and intoxicants are not suspected.
