Random bullet pierces Kennewick home with week-old baby inside
A bullet pierced the roof and ceiling of a Kennewick mobile home while a couple and their week-old baby were inside.
The round appears to be a stray fired from a gun into the air, said Mike Blatman, Kennewick police crime prevention specialist.
“We could speculate that maybe someone was shooting up in the air for Fourth of July, but we really don’t know,” Blatman said.
The father told police he heard a loud noise near the front of the home at 4815 W. Clearwater Avenue at 9:45 p.m.
He then found a bullet on the bathroom floor and a hole the size of a quarter in his ceiling.
The man’s wife and a 1-week old infant also were home, but no one was hurt.
