Benton City boy hurt in collision near Pasco

A Benton City boy was hurt Monday when two cars collided on Interstate 182 near Pasco.

Jonathan Young, 8, was injured when the Pontiac G6 he was riding in was struck by another car changing lanes, said the Washington State Patrol.

Ruth Young, 37, of Benton City, was headed east in the Pontiac when an Acura driven by Samuel Barraza, 36, of Pasco, made an unsafe lane change, said the WSP.

Jonathan, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center where he was treated and later released. No one else was injured.
