Kennewick police seized a stolen gun after a traffic stop at 2:40 a.m. Thursday in Kennewick.

A Kennewick officer stopped Jose M. Balderas, 19, of Pasco, and noticed a 9 mm Ruger pistol in plain sight.

Balderas was arrested for unlawful concealment of a loaded handgun in a car since he did not have a permit to have it concealed and loaded.

Two other boys, a 15- and 16-year-old from Pasco, were arrested for false reporting. The 16-year-old also was cited for unlawful possession of a gun since minors cannot be in possession of a loaded gun, Kennewick police said.

Prosecutors may add new charges since the gun was reported as stolen in Pasco. Pasco police had no other details on the stolen gun.

The Criminal Apprehension Team recovered the pistol after a search of the vehicle.
