Mattress from Pasco man’s truck causes crash, injuries on I-90
A mattress that flew out of the bed of a pickup truck driven by a Pasco man caused another vehicle to crash on Interstate 90 early Sunday morning, injuring two people.
Timothy Day, 42 was driving east on the interstate outside Cle Elum in a Ford F-250, said a release from Washington State Patrol. Sara J. Kay, 23, of Ellensburg was also driving east in a Subaru Impreza.
The mattress fell out of Day’s truck’s bed and into the roadway, causing Kay to swerve to avoid it. The Subaru ending up leaving the roadway, rolling coming to rest on its top in the ditch.
Both Kay and her passenger, Jared Abramowski, 27, of Ellensburg, were taken to Kittitas Valley Hospital. Their statuses were not immediately known.
Day was cited by state police for having an unsecured load.
