Two injured in crash on I-182 near Road 68 in Pasco

A one-vehicle crash Friday night on Interstate 182 near Road 68 in Pasco sent two people to Lourdes Medical Center with injuries.

Christian Garcia, 22, of Pasco was driving westbound on the interstate in the right lane, according to a release from Washington State Patrol. He then abruptly went to slow down because of slowing traffic and lost control of his Dodge Ram pickup, causing it to leave the roadway.

Details on the extent of the injuries and current status of the driver and his passenger, Ceaser Garcia, 17, also of Pasco, were not immediately available.

State troopers attributed the crash to inattention and cited Christian Garcia for second-degree negligent driving.

Highway construction on the interstate has led to traffic congestion on Road 68 and its interchanges and Pasco police have cautioned drivers to be alert to avoid collisions.
