Walla Walla County coroner investigating 5-month-old’s death as homicide

The Walla Walla County coroner is investigating the death of a 5-month-old baby as a homicide.

The coroner said Monday the autopsy on Dominic Freel was conducted June 11, and results are pending histology and toxicology.

Coroner Richard Greenwood said last week that paramedics brought the Milton-Freewater baby to Providence St. Mary’s Medical Center Wednesday evening. He died at the hospital about an hour later.

Milton-Freewater police say the Umatilla County Major Crime Team is investigating.
