Motorcycle rider seriously injured east of Burbank

The driver of motorcycle that crashed on Fish Hook Park Road east of Burbank on Sunday was sent to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle and his passenger was taken to the Richland hospital.

Daniel P. Grove, 46, of Waitsburg, was driving a Harley Davidson Road King east at 4:54 p.m. when he passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone, according to the Washington State Patrol. He was about 16 miles east of Burbank.

The motorcycle left the road on the westbound shoulder and rolled, according to police reports.

Mimi J. Grove, 39, of Waitsburg, was a passenger on the motorcycle. She was treated at Kadlec Regional Medical Center and later released.

Daniel Grove was in serious condition in intensive care at Harborview on Monday.

The state patrol is considering a charge of vehicular assault. Drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, according to police reports.
