Officials investigate inmate death at Benton County jail

Benton County officials are investigating an inmate death Wednesday evening at the Benton County jail in Kennewick.

Emergency responders were called to the justice center about 5:30 p.m. for the report of an unresponsive person.

Initial reports were that the person could not be revived. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death, but had few details to release Wednesday evening.
