Near-crash with pedestrian leads to shooting in Kennewick
A man pulling into his Kennewick driveway was shot at three times by a pedestrian he nearly struck who was walking in the street.
Police were called early Sunday morning to the 3700 block of west Kennewick Avenue after receiving multiple calls of shots being fired, including one from the targeted victim, police said.
The victim said he exchanged words with the pedestrian after nearly hitting him with his car. After pulling into his parking space and getting out of his car, he said the pedestrian was still standing there, fired three shots from a pistol and fled.
All three shots struck the victim’s car and an officer recovered three casings from the scene. The shooter hasn’t been identified and the victim said he did not recognize him.
