Cops looking for man who punched woman in wheel chair

Kennewick police are searching for Pedro Mendez, 61, a homeless man who reportedly punched his sister-in-law in the face several times after a confrontation in Columbia Park.

Mendez was reportedly walking in the park when he encountered his sister-in-law, 63. The woman, who uses a wheelchair, was visiting the park with her son and grandchildren.

Mendez and the victim argued and Mendez reportedly punched her several times in the face before fleeing toward the blue bridge boat launch.
