Kennewick police seek burglary suspect

Kennewick police are seeking a man who allegedly kicked in an apartment door rather than wait for the friend he planned to visit.

Gorge Luis Acevado fled through an apartment laundry room and remained at large after a late-night visit to a friend’s apartment at 10 N. Dayton St.

Neighbors called police after hearing banging and loud talking by two men and a woman in the hall of a small apartment building.

When police arrived, they discovered an apartment door had been kicked in. The visitors had gone into a laundry room after being told to stop making so much noise. Officers found the laundry room door locked and ordered the occupants to open it.

Eventually, a woman emerged and told officers she arrived with Acevedo and a second man to visit a man who lived there but who did not answer the door. Instead of waiting outside, Acevado kicked in the door.

The second man, Christian Hernandez, 22, was arrested on an unrelated warrant. Acevado is wanted for burglary.
