A suspicious package left at a Pasco apartment complex yielded a fluffy surprise for police.

Officers were called Saturday to the Carjo Apartments located near the intersection of 26th Avenue and Sylvester Street, a release said. Upon opening it, the officers discovered a large and mostly black rabbit.

“Just imagine the scene from ‘Gremlins,’” the release said of the incident, referring to a scene in the 1984 movie when the adorable mogwai Gizmo first emerges from a box opened by his new owner.

The rabbit has since been given a new home.
