Address posts available for Franklin County residents
Fire officials in Franklin County are urging property owners make sure address markers are visible from the street to aid firefighters in emergencies.
A grant allowed the county’s fire districts to spend $8,500 on 4-foot-long fiberglass address posts for homes and businesses at no charge. Those without proper address markings at the entrance of their property can contact their fire department to receive a post. The posts can be installed by local fire departments upon request.
Property owners who want to check their address’ visibility from the street should see if the numbers are 5 inches high, placed on a contrasting background and not concealed by trees or bushes.
For more information contact Franklin Fire District 3 at 509-547-9306.
