Kamiakin student hit by car while using crosswalk near school

A Kamiakin High School student was injured after he was hit by another student’s car while using a crosswalk near the school.

The collision happened at the crosswalk on Edison Street near the football practice fields for the school, a release said. Witnesses told officers that the car was going too fast for it to stop once it noticed the student in the crosswalk.

The victim was treated for minor injuries by paramedics and released. The driver was cited by Kennewick police for reckless driving.
