Van rear-ended on Pasco’s Oregon Avenue while slowing for pedestrian
A motorist slowing for a pedestrian on Highway 397 in Pasco was injured Monday morning when their van was rear-ended by a semi.
Ma T. Ramirez-Hernandez, 42, of Pasco, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco for treatment after the 8:25 a.m. crash.
The truck driver, Gustavo Contreras, 35, of Pasco, was not injured.
A Washington State Patrol report said Ramirez-Hernandez was southbound on Oregon Avenue at Lewis Street when she slowed her 2004 Toyota Sienna.
Contreras was following too close and his 2012 Freightliner with trailer hit the back of the Toyota, the report said.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts in the crash.
