Pickup rear-ends car on I-182 in Pasco

Editor’s note: This story has been corrected.

A Pasco driver was rear-ended Thursday morning on Interstate 182 in Pasco after slowing for traffic.

Daniel T. Medina, 16, of Pasco, was driving east on the highway about 9 a.m. when he reduced his speed for traffic about three miles west of Pasco.

Christine M. Berman, 29, of Pasco, also traveling east in the same lane in a silver Honda Pilot , struck Medina’s white Chevorlet K1 pickup from behind.

Berman was cited for second-degree negligent driving, the state patrol said.

Delores V. Medina, 49, was a passenger in the white Chevorlet K1 pickup and was taken to Lourdes Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Daniel Medina was not injured, nor was Berman, though her car was totaled, the state patrol said.

Police said inattention was the cause of the crash.
