Kennewick police are searching for a man who allegedly slashed the tires and broke the windows of a woman’s car and put a rock through a window of that woman’s home.

The victim was at 1400 block of West Second Avenue to pick up her daughter, but she wasn’t there, police said. The daughter’s ex-boyfriend Nicholas Birden was there. There is an active protection order between him and his ex-girlfriend’s mother.

Birden slashed the victim’s tires which the woman witnessed, police said. She then drove her car to the Super Mini Mart on Kennewick Avenue and left it there. After she left, a store employee heard a loud crash and found someone had thrown two large rocks through the passenger side windows.

The victim later arrived home and found a rock had been thrown through a window there as well.

Birden has an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear on an obstruction charge.

Anyone with information on Birden’s whereabouts should contact Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers at 509-586-8477, 800-222-8477, visit www.tricitiescrimestoppers.org or call dispatch at 509-628-0333.
