Kennewick police arrested an amputee wanted on warrants and also for allegedly stealing mail and forging checks.

Richard I. Vinson Jr., 44, has allegedly taken checks from mailboxes, altered them and cashed them, said a release from Tri-Cities Crime Stoppers. He was also wanted on charges of escaping from community custody, and failing to appear in court on charges related to domestic violence.

Vinson, whose left arm is amputated below the elbow, was arrested Monday afternoon after a Crime Stoppers bulletin was issued earlier in the day.
