Motorcyclist identified in I-84 crash near Pendleton
The man killed after crashing into a guardrail on Interstate 84 east of Pendleton on Tuesday has been identified.
Richard R. Hutchins, 80, of Chicago, Illinois, was the driver.
Preliminary investigation indicates the adult male rider was traveling east on I-84 when for unknown reasons, drifted out of the lane and struck a guardrail about 3:30 p.m., police said.
The driver was taken to Saint Mary’s Hospital in Walla Walla by helicopter.
