Man arrested in Kennewick after brandishing BB gun disguised as revolver
A 21-year-old man was arrested Sunday afternoon in Kennewick after threatening someone with what appeared to be a revolver but was actually a BB gun.
Officers were called to 417 S. Buntin St. after Cody L. Hammond got into an argument. During the argument, Hammond pulled out what looked like a Colt or Ruger .357 revolver while yelling “I’m loaded,” police said.
After officers arrived, they found Hammond and the weapon, which was a BB gun disguised to look like a firearm.
Hammond was booked into the Benton County jail for violating a no-contact order involving his ex-girlfriend the previous day. The BB gun was taken as evidence and charges for displaying a weapon in a threatening manner are being sent to the prosecutor for consideration, police said.
