Pasco man suspected of driving intoxicated, arrested after Highway 12 crash
A 23-year-old Pasco man was booked into jail late Saturday after crashing his truck into a sedan while allegedly driving intoxicated.
Marco A. Gomez Mercado is being held without bail in the Franklin County jail on suspicion of two counts of vehicular assault and one count of hit-and-run with injury.
Troopers say Gomez Mercado was behind the wheel of his 2010 Chevrolet Silverado on East A Street in Pasco when he failed to stop for the stop sign at Highway 12.
The pickup slammed into an eastbound 1989 Nissan Sentra driven by Dale L. Bronniman, according to the Washington State Patrol report.
Bronniman, 56, of Wallula, was taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center in Richland. Information on his condition was not available Sunday afternoon.
His passenger, Kevin A. Simmons, 52, of Wallula, was taken to Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco. A spokeswoman said he is in stable condition.
Gomez Mercado was not injured in the 9:57 p.m. crash.
All three men were wearing seat belts, the report said.
