Richland semi driver cited for hitting pickup near Prosser
A semi-truck driver was cited for negligent driving on Monday after he hit the back of a pickup on Interstate 82 near Prosser.
Scott S. Wormington, 43, of Richland, was not injured in the 3:45 p.m. wreck in the westbound lanes, two miles east of Prosser.
Wormington was behind the wheel of a 2002 International 5900i with a trailer when he struck the truck driven by Estelle E. Salinas, 65, of Toppenish, according to the Washington State Patrol.
Salinas was taken to PMH Medical Center in Prosser for treatment, state police said.
Salinas was driving a 1997 Ford F250. Both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
