Police: Assault leaves Kennewick woman with broken bones

A 49-year-old Kennewick man was arrested for felony assault after police found his girlfriend with broken bones walking along some railroad tracks.

Neighbors found the woman with serious injuries crying for help shortly before 3 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Police say Richard Brigham is suspected of assaulting the woman. Brigham refused to come out of his home on West Fourth Place when police showed up.

Officers got a search warrant and forced their way inside and arrested Brigham, who was booked into the Benton County jail.

The victim was hospitalized.
